I am a long-time customer of Body Firm, and have been impressed with Body Firm’s personal training and nutrition management services. I have also utilized and been equally impressed with their on-site partners at Symmetry Injury Care and Sports Performance Center. Body Firm’s staff is unique in their extensive expertise, innovative techniques and commitment to evolve their approach as their industry and customers have evolved.

I am an active runner and consistently participate in 5, 10, and 12k races. In 2009, my health and fitness were good, but I wanted to improve in both areas and lose weight. My personal trainer, Scott Adams, suggested that I have my Resting Metabolic Rate checked (another great service from Body Firm) and that I utilize a phone app to track my calories and fitness activities on a daily basis. I have been amazed at my weight lost results as Scott pushed me to own my weight lost program. He also partnered with me by directing my physical activities, advising me on daily total calorie goals and recommending good foods to eat to maintain a balance between protein, carbohydrates, and fats.

I continued my training and started losing weight, but this was all interrupted in 2010 when I had a serious back injury. My recovery took a year and I questioned whether I would be able to continue my active lifestyle in the future. I was very concerned that my injury would have a negative impact on my good heath, conditioning and weight lost accomplishments. Body Firm has a unique business model that provides nutrition management, personal training and sports injury and performance therapy. This provided the opportunity for my personal trainer and the sports injury performance therapy doctor, Dr. Capobianco to work together to provide an incredibly effective recovery program. My personal trainer pushed me continue losing weight, while working on the new rehabilitation program which focused on flexibility, strength, endurance and physical therapy for my back. Over a 2-year period I lost 35 pounds. As a result, my flexibility, strength and endurance are now at an all-time high level. Hi, my name is Jill I’m writing a testimonial, because of my incredible epiphany while spending time with Tammy a couple of weeks ago.

Tammy has been encouraging me to eat a plant-based food plan for years. It fell on deaf ears, ’cause I did not want to give up fast food and sweets. Did I know that those were not healthy choices? Of course I did, but………… When I was threatened with meds for high cholesterol and blood sugar, was over feeling tired and depressed, and completely fed up with being overweight (we’re talking 35-40 lbs, not those pesky 5 to 10 lbs), the emotions finally caught up with the intellect and I was ready to go for it! It was so easy, it’s amazing that I protested so much. The results have been transforming. I’ve lost 8 lbs, the bloating, fatigue, depression, and I’m off anti-depressants and blood pressure meds. I know, I sound like a televangelist (if you only knew me, you’d be laughing)! Remember…this has only been 2 weeks! The other factor in this transformation has been daily exercise. You knew that was coming, didn’t you! I’m going to be 74 in November, so we’re not talking marathon bike rides and the like. So far, I’m just walking 30 minutes a day (with some hills) and I really enjoy it. For the present, I’ll just work at increasing the length of the walks and, perhaps, expand my venues later on.

I’m eternally grateful that I was finally ready to do this. Without Tammy, it never would have happened. She and her trainers inspire me… I hope that my story will inspire someone else, especially someone my age, not to EVER give up!!
